The ski area

With its 265 km of pistes and 5 connected resorts (Morillon, Samoëns, Les Carroz, Sixt Fer a Cheval and Flaine), the Grand Massif is today considered as one of the finest and largest ski areas in France.
 
Because of its geographical position, the Grand Massif benefits from plentiful and regular snow coverage throughout the season, and the area is renowned for the quality of its spring snow. It is said that 80% of its slopes face North which helps the snow to last longer.
 
The Grand Massif can count a number of outstanding places:
- The Combe de Gers with its 800 m of height loss in virgin snow. The slope is vertiginous!
- The Cascades piste that lays 14 km of blue pistes from the top of Flaine to Sixt Fer a Cheval.
- The Marvel piste offers to beginners a 5 km route into the heart of a hundred-year-old forest.
