Marmotte Granfondo Alpes

Sunday 22 June 2025

The Marmotte Granfondo Alpes cycling challenge

Plunge into the heart of the action with the Marmotte Granfondo Alpes, a cycling event starting at dawn in the charming village of Bourg d'Oisans, with the ascent of mythical passes (Cols du Glandon, Télégraphe, Galibier and Lautaret) and the final ascent of the 21 bends of the world-famous Alpe d'Huez. Let yourself be carried away by the enthusiasm of the cycling enthusiasts and enjoy an unforgettable cycling experience. Crossing the finish line of the Marmotte Granfondo Alpes is a unique experience: a mixture of emotion, fatigue and pride, the happy Finishers live an unforgettable moment.

A demanding and varied route

Start your adventure with around ten kilometres of flat terrain, then get ready for the first challenge: the ascent of the Col du Glandon. This demanding and uneven climb will put your skills to the test. Once at the summit, enjoy a fast, technical descent, where caution and control are the order of the day.

The Plat de Résistance: Cols du Télégraphe and Galibier

The Maurienne Valley awaits you with its legendary sequence of Cols du Télégraphe (1,570m) and Galibier (2,645m). This 2,000m climb over 35km is a real test of endurance. Take advantage of the refreshment stop in Valloire to recharge your batteries before conquering the majestic Galibier, with its breathtaking scenery.

Safety and compulsory equipment

For your safety, individual lighting is essential and compulsory. Make sure you have a light kit and a visibility waistcoat to tackle the many dimly-lit tunnels.

The Ultimate Challenge: The 21 laces of the Alpe

The 21 laces of the Alpe d'Huez are the highlight of the race. With gradients averaging 13% from the very first bends, this legendary climb is a real challenge. Make your mark on the history of the Tour de France by climbing this legendary climb.
