An authentic celebration in the heart of the Alps!

Are you looking for a unique and authentic experience in the Alps? Don't miss the Fête des Guides in Chamonix! Since it was first held on 15 August 1924, this emblematic festival has become a not-to-be-missed event for mountain lovers.

A centuries-old tradition, a spirit of solidarity

The Guides' Festival was created to support the Caisse de Secours, which helps guides and their families in difficulty. Placed under the protection of the Blessed Virgin, this festival traditionally takes place around 15 August, Assumption Day.

Programme of the Fête des Guides de Chamonix

  • 31 July | Argentière (10am-11pm): Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere with sporting and musical events, followed by open-air concerts.
  • 11 August | Les Houches (14h-18h): Take part in sporting activities for all ages.
  • 13 August | Lavancher (10am-9pm): Discover the bread festival, enjoy a country-style meal and enjoy an evening concert.
  • 14 August | Chamonix (10am-2pm): A day full of entertainment, a ball and an electro party to dance the night away.
  • 14 August | Argentière (17h30-18h30): Attend the traditional ceremony, a solemn and moving moment.
  • 15 August | Chamonix (8.30am-10pm): Don't miss the traditional ceremony, market, conferences, sporting events and concerts.
  • 15 August | Servoz (8am-10pm): Explore the craft fair, take part in sports activities and enjoy the concerts.
  • 7 September | Vallorcine (4pm-2am): End the summer in style with sporting and musical events, a convivial meal and concerts.
