Samoëns is the small village of my postcards childhood !
Small chalets with sculpted hearts, fir forests monuments, a medieval town that brings us back to the life of yesteryear, cows in mountain pasture with thousands of flowers all around. Samoëns is first and foremost a true bastion of mountain identity. I am Savoyard but nowhere I I have never found this culture so preserved and authentic. Far from stations carton-pâte, here we are in the simply true.
 
You can't get bored here! I'm impressed with the quantity of sports and cultural activities offered in winter and summer. This is just impossible to do everything, even being a year-round resident. With the 4th largest French ski area just at the end of the gondola and Mont white placed just in front, we realize that to be here is to be privileged.

-The Fabulous Cascades Run: a 14 km blue run without ski lift located in the heart of the nature reserve.
-The Lac des Chambres hike from the Refuge de Folly. Surprising! The lake is perched in a narrow coomb and dominated by the Folly Glacier.
-The Lacs aux Dames de Samoëns walk through the woods and the along the Giffre river.
-The vertiginous slope of the Combe de Gers with its 800 m drop in virgin snow.
 
To see:
-The historic town of Samoëns: cradle stonemasons, called “Frahans”, the streets of Samoëns bear witness to this past with its old houses. All the charm and the authenticity of the Septimontain village.
-The Alpine Botanical Garden of La Jaÿsinia. Classified as a Remarkable Garden, it is scientifically managed by the National Museum of Natural History. 4800 mountain plants divided into 2500 species.
