Unusual activities in winter sports :
Treat yourself to new experiences in the mountains!

Are you going on a winter sports trip with your family or friends and dreaming of sharing unforgettable moments?
We have prepared for you a non-exhaustive list of unusual activities to enjoy in the mountains in winter !

Get your adrenaline flowing:

Snowtubing :

Climb into a buoy and hurtle down the slopes! Those who love to slide will love it! There are different courses for different age groups, so there's something for everyone. Race with friends or family or try to set a speed record without falling! Then go back up the slope on a treadmill and set off again for a round! Make sure you are well equipped: warm clothes against the cold, helmet, gloves and hat. Goggles are also essential to protect your eyes from the wind and snow.

Ice karting :

Do you want to know which member of the family is the best driver on ice? Challenge yourself on an ice karting course! Children and adults will be able to compete with each other for a memorable experience! You don't need a driving licence, but you will have to press the button if you want to finish on the podium! Ski suits, gloves and helmets are recommended for this activity.
Some resorts also offer ice driving, which is reserved for adults with a driving licence who want to improve their driving on snow.

Fatbike or mountain biking on snow

The fatbike's tyres are much wider than those of a conventional bike, and are designed to provide better grip on snowy or rough terrain. Warm up to prepare your muscles, and go for a nice ride on adapted routes! This activity can be practised both during the day and at night. Remember to cover up well and hydrate regularly. A headlamp is strongly recommended if you ride at night! This sport requires energy, so take a small snack for the break.

Tyrolean traverse

Do you dream of getting to the top and having a panoramic view of the resort? The Tyrolean traverse is for you! Slide along a cable stretched above the void and experience a strong sensation thanks to the height and speed! Hold on tight as you can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h. You can do this activity solo or in tandem. Even if the average flight lasts only one minute, remember to dress well and protect your hands, eyes and head.
People who are pregnant, have asthma, heart problems or epilepsy are not allowed to do this activity.

BunJride

BunJride, more commonly known as ski bungee jumping, will take you out of your comfort zone! Go down a ramp on skis to gain momentum and jump into the void! Don't be afraid, you are well attached and you will be cushioned by the big airbag before you hit the ground. People who are fit and not afraid of speed can do this activity. In order to enjoy this sport, please come equipped with your ski boots and clothing.

Big airbag

Whether you are sledging, skiing or snowboarding, the big airbag is a huge inflatable cushion that will cushion your jump. This activity is accessible to all: beginners as well as experienced people. Challenge yourself, your family or your friends to achieve the most beautiful figure. The inflatable cushion will be there to cushion your fall. Many modules are available to improve your skills and increase the sensations!

Waterslide on skis

Discover this fun activity to enjoy with family and friends. Ski watersliding is practised on an artificial body of water about 20 to 30 metres long and 5 to 10 metres wide set up in a snowpark. The aim is to cross the entire length of the water on skis, snowboard or sled without falling in! The higher the speed, the better your chances of success. This discipline is accessible to all levels. Remember to bring a change of clothes in case you fall in the water.

Speed-riding

Have you always dreamed of flying? Then this incredible sport is for you! Equipped with skis and a paraglider, glide down the slopes and fly over the cliffs and rocks with your glider. This sport is only accessible to thrill-seekers and experienced skiers. You need to be a very good skier, and be able to ski on all types of terrain. The paraglider is very manoeuvrable. It is possible to start this sport with a tandem glider to familiarise yourself with it. You will need to wear a complete outfit, ski boots and skis to practice this sport.

For lovers of four-legged companions

Ski joëring

Share a unique moment with a horse, all while putting on skis. Ski joëring will appeal to both adults and children. It's a completely different way of skiing, and you don't have to use the lifts. It is not necessary to have a very good level of skiing to be pulled by the horse. You just need to have your first star! For the more experienced, a slalom is offered. This sport is not easy, as you have to steer the horse with your arms while standing on your skis. This activity can also be done with a dog team. Don't forget to bring gloves to keep your hands warm, as well as your ski clothes and equipment.

Dog sledding

Are you crazy about four-legged fur balls? Then you will love dog sledding: a gentle activity in the heart of exceptional panoramas. Experience magical moments with your loved ones and let yourself slide through snowy landscapes. Make sure you are warmly equipped to fully enjoy this moment.

Friendly activities for fun and relaxation

Ice floating

Would you like to enjoy a moment of relaxation? Come and try ice floating. This activity from Finland is becoming increasingly popular in ski resorts. Completely wrapped in a waterproof suit, you can let yourself go with your family or friends. The aim of this activity is to relax in water between 2 and 5 degrees... Once you've slipped into the water: let go! Don't forget to cover yourself up when you get out of the water.

Snake slide

Climb into your sled and hang on to your neighbour's. The principle of the snake glide is a leu-leu queue of a dozen sleds attached to each other. Enjoy the slopes for a night out with family and friends. If you want a quiet ride, sit in the front of the caterpillar, for more excitement, choose a sled in the back. Don't forget to bring warm clothing for this activity, as well as a pair of glasses and gloves. Après-ski shoes are mandatory.

Bubble football on snow

Inspired by traditional football, this ball game is played in an inflatable bubble. Attached by a harness, each player is held and secured so as not to "lose the ball". Handles inside the bubble are accessible for maximum balance. All shots are allowed! Thanks to the double wall filled with air, this activity is absolutely safe. Compete in teams of 6 to 10 people and try to score as many goals as possible.

Icefall

Whether you are a sportsman or not, ice climbing is an unusual adventure to share that will leave you with lasting memories. Climb an ice wall equipped with ice axes and crampons. Discover exceptional panoramas, while evolving with a guide in a safe environment. For your outfit of the day, a warm and waterproof suit is recommended, as well as cramponable shoes, gloves, helmet and glasses.

The more classic, but no less enjoyable activities :

Snowshoeing

This practice is very appreciated by all, because it is very easy to access. The snowshoe can be slipped on over the après-ski, and allows you to walk in complete stability in the snow. Various hiking routes are accessible in the middle of snowy panoramas, and allow you to easily enter in communion with nature. More and more resorts are offering marked trails. Before setting off, remember to take water, warm and comfortable clothing, sunglasses and sun cream. (We remind you that even in bad weather, the sun reflects off the snow). Some resorts also offer snowshoe and yoga hikes, which allow you to find yourself and meditate with full awareness in the middle of nature. This interlude of well-being allows you to disconnect from stress and to recharge your batteries.

Tobogganing

There's nothing like sledging for a fun family outing! Sledding can be done on a track or on rails. You can slide on wooden or plastic sleds. Keep your distance and do it in suitable areas. Make sure you cover yourself from head to toe.

Snow bike

This small motorbike equipped with skis is an ideal sport for motorized gliding enthusiasts. You must be of age and have a driving licence. Rent a snowmobile and ride in the heart of the Alps. Snowmobiling is done on dedicated trails or when the slopes are closed. As this activity is mainly practiced at night, it is important to dress warmly to make the most of the ride.

Ice skating

Try a different kind of sliding by putting on ice skates. We recommend that you wear practical and comfortable clothing so that you can move freely. Beginners and experts alike need to be flexible and agile, coordinate their movements and have a sense of balance. Wear gloves and even a helmet to protect yourself in case of a fall.

Yooner or Paret

The yooner is the "modern" version of the paret, a mix between the ski and the luge. Indeed, this machine consists of a ski with a seat and a handle to guide it. It is very easy to use and is ideal for a family outing or with children. It is ideal for young and old alike. Easy to learn, you don't need to know how to ski. Many resorts offer this very accessible sport. A simple ski suit and après-ski are enough to practice it. For added safety, a helmet is available.
